Ada pepatah Melayu yang berbunyi “Maju Bahasa Majulah Bangsa” dan “ Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa”. Kebenaran dan kebijaksanaan kata-kata ini memang tidak dapat dinafikan lagi. Konsep “Satu Bahasa Satu Bangsa” akan membolehkan usaha-usaha yang berterusan bagi mendaulatkan bahasa Melayu sebagai penyatuan rakyat yang berbilang kaum dan sebagai bahasa yang mencerminkan masyarakat yang berdaulat dan berjaya.
